Engineering and Commissioning
From engineering drawing to operational reality — under one roof, with one point of contact.
The transition from completed design to optimally performing system is the phase where most industrial projects run into difficulty. Conflicting specifications, poor site coordination and incomplete commissioning create problems that can follow an installation for years. ICE manages this transition in full, under direct engineering supervision.
What we do
- Pre-installation review: engineering specifications assessed against actual site conditions before installation begins.
- On-site installation: carried out by our own qualified engineers; third-party or OEM support fully coordinated by us.
- Commissioning: control system integration, safety logic verification, combustion performance testing and official emission measurements.
- Project close-out & handover: as-built drawings, software and control documentation, safety logic records and performance verification data.
What you receive
- A thermal system that performs to the exact design specifications from day one.
- One clear point of contact from design through to handover.
- No functional gaps between what was designed, installed and delivered.
- Complete documentation for safe operation and efficient long-term maintenance.
ICE engineers have completed commissioning assignments throughout Europe and beyond — in steel, petrochemicals, food processing, textiles, ceramics and chemical production.

Operator Training and Knowledge Transfer
Your installation performs at its best when the people operating it truly understand it.
A well-designed system that is poorly understood or operated will underperform. Operator errors, incorrect settings and unrecognised warning signs are the most common causes of avoidable downtime. ICE provides on-site operator training and knowledge transfer programmes, tailored to your installation, your team and your operational context.
What this covers
- On-site training for operators and maintenance technicians on ICE installations and third-party equipment.
- System familiarisation: combustion principles, control logic and safety systems.
- Recognition of early warning signs of performance loss or wear.
- Correct start-up, shutdown and emergency procedures.
- Documentation and handover materials in the required language.
What you receive
- Operators who understand the system they are working with.
- Fewer operator-induced errors and avoidable downtime.
- Earlier detection of emerging issues between service visits.
- A team capable of acting confidently in non-standard situations.

Maintenance and Service Contracts
Preventing downtime is always less costly than recovering from it.
Thermal process installations in continuous industrial environments require structured, preventive maintenance. ICE offers maintenance and service contracts that keep your installation operating safely, efficiently and reliably — tailored to your specific installation, production schedule and risk profile. Every contract is bespoke; there is no standard solution.
What we offer
- Preventive maintenance & inspections: planned inspections, functional testing, safety interlock checks and timely replacement of wear parts.
- Corrective maintenance & breakdown support: second-line specialist support for complex failures and safety-critical situations.
- 24/7 availability: direct telephone contact for fault registration, remote diagnosis and prioritised deployment.
- Remote monitoring & software support: periodic review of process data for early detection of deviations.
- Lifecycle reporting: detailed reports with findings, recommendations and proactive replacement advice.
What you receive
- Predictable, reliable operational continuity.
- A dedicated maintenance partner with in-depth knowledge of your installation.
- A complete, documented service history for compliance, insurance and asset management.
- Priority access to spare parts, field engineers and technical support.

Inspection and Compliance
Know the exact condition of your installation — before it becomes a problem.
ICE develops bespoke inspection programmes for industrial thermal installations, reducing the risk of unplanned failure and extending operational lifespan. Our multilingual team of inspectors and engineers operates worldwide.
For Dutch industrial operators, ICE carries out the legally required SCIOS inspections — both for gas train safety (Scope 7) and for the performance and emissions of combustion installations above 100 kW (Scopes 1 through 5). ICE is one of the few parties in the market with the expertise to both inspect and resolve any findings during the same site visit.
What this covers
- Periodic inspection programmes combined with preventive maintenance.
- Modifications, repairs and mechanical refurbishment.
- Legally required SCIOS gas line inspections (fuel pipework).
- SCIOS EBI (First Special Inspection) and PI (Periodic Inspection) assessments.
- Detailed inspection reports including official certification and concrete recommendations.

Process Optimisation and Technical Support
Performance gaps develop gradually — often before they are noticed internally.
Process conditions change, production volumes evolve, fuel quality varies and equipment ages. ICE provides ongoing technical support and process optimisation for industrial thermal installations, regardless of whether they were originally built by ICE or a third party.
What we do
- Combustion audits: on-site measurement of combustion efficiency, flue gas composition, excess air (O₂), fuel consumption and emission levels.
- Process optimisation: burner calibration, fuel-to-air ratio fine-tuning and control parameter adjustment.
- Technical troubleshooting: rapid on-site or remote diagnosis of complex combustion failures.
- Compliance support: emission measurements, official documentation and independent technical advice.
- Operator training: practical on-site training to sustain performance between service visits.
What you receive
- Measurably lower energy consumption and reduced fuel costs.
- Consistent process performance and stable product quality.
- Reduced emission levels and guaranteed regulatory compliance.
- A significantly extended operational lifespan for your installation.

Spare Parts and Operational Continuity
Unplanned downtime always costs more than a strategically managed spare parts inventory. Always.
When a critical component fails, the clock starts immediately. ICE supplies only original and fully compatible components for both ICE installations and third-party thermal systems — including installations equipped with Dunphy, NOXMAT, GBP and Forney burners. For critical components with long lead times, we advise on appropriate critical stock levels within your own stores.
What this means for your operations
- Rapid delivery of original and certified components for ICE and third-party systems.
- Guaranteed compatibility: full verification upfront — never the wrong part on site.
- Proactive stock advice for critical process components with long lead times.
- One central point of contact for parts, technical support and operational continuity.
