Infrared Burners

Fast, efficient heating for high-performance production processes.

In fast-paced production environments, a slow thermal response means lost output, wasted energy and inconsistent product quality. Infrared burners eliminate these inefficiencies: delivering direct, precise and energy-efficient heating exactly where and when it is needed.

Originally developed for the textile and carpet industry, ICE infrared burner systems are now deployed across a wide range of industries where compact, high-performance heating is required.

How it works

Surface combustion takes place within an FeCrAl metal fibre matrix, generating highly uniform infrared emission across the entire burner surface. The self-cleaning structure ensures stable, long-term performance with minimal maintenance intervention.

Key benefits

  • Heating and cooling response within approximately one second, for precise process control and rapid production changeovers.
  • Deep infrared penetration enables more compact machine designs and more efficient use of floor space.
  • High power density supports greater throughput on existing production lines.
  • Self-cleaning construction significantly reduces maintenance frequency and the risk of unplanned downtime.

Technical specifications

  • Power density: 100–400 kW/m²
  • Process temperature: up to 1050°C
  • Wavelength range: 1.2–7.2 μm
  • Horizontal or vertical installation
  • Compact modular design
Applications: Textile drying, carpet manufacturing, industrial drying systems, process heating, coating and finishing lines.

Why ICE

ICE integrates infrared burner technology into complete thermal process solutions, designed precisely around your specific production requirements and with full end-to-end involvement in installation and commissioning.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What are infrared burners used for?

Gas-fired infrared burners deliver direct radiant heat of 100–400 kW/m² for drying and heating processes in textiles, carpet, paper, food and coating lines — wherever fast, focused heat transfer is required.

How fast do infrared burners respond?

ICE infrared burners reach full radiant output within about one second and can be modulated just as quickly, giving precise control over product temperature and moisture.

Why choose gas infrared over electric infrared?

Gas infrared typically offers lower operating costs at industrial capacities and integrates directly with existing gas infrastructure, while achieving comparable response times and radiant intensity.
